Interclean 2024 was all about robotics and sustainability

Interclean trade fair in Amsterdam, which took place from 14 to 17 May 2024, offered a complete overview of products, services and innovations in the field of professional cleaning and hygiene. The event attracted over 30,000 visitors from 143 countries and introduced more than 875 exhibitors from around the world.

Interclean Amsterdam 2024

The main topics were new technologies and sustainable practices. An important award was the Amsterdam Innovation Award, which this year went to LESSEAU for its eco-friendly solid hand soap, which uses 95% less water than traditional liquid soaps and has zero plastic packaging.

Visitors could take part in a number of lectures and workshops, focused, for example, on improving the efficiency of cleaning, the use of artificial intelligence in cleaning and other current topics. The program also included live demonstrations and interactive demonstrations of new machines and technologies, such as robotic vacuum cleaners and disinfectants with antimicrobial properties.

An important trend has been the increasing use of robotics and autonomous systems in cleaning and maintenance. The fair offered a glimpse of the latest robotic machines, capable of independently performing various tasks including vacuuming, floor washing and disinfection.

The topic of digital transformation, focusing on the area of cleaning technologies, was also closely related to this. The companies presented innovative systems connected to the Internet of Things (IoT) that allow cleaning processes to be monitored and controlled remotely. Intelligent sensors and data analysis help optimize resource utilization and improve maintenance efficiency through predictive maintenance.

The importance of durability and ecological innovations was also evident. In response to growing environmental concerns, more and more companies are focusing on developing environmentally friendly cleaning products and processes. Biodegradable cleaning products, recyclable packaging and environmentally friendly technologies were presented at the fair.

In addition to the aforementioned, we also took advantage of the unique opportunity to visit the stands of some leading companies in the field of cleaning technologies and products. Our stops included, among others, presentations by Kärcher, Lucart, i-team, TANA, Tork, Nilfisk and Tennant .

Kärcher

is a well-known German manufacturer of cleaning equipment that develops the advanced robotic system KIRA. The fully autonomous indoor cleaning robot is one of the latest additions to the Kärcher portfolio. At this year's Interclean, its smaller variant KIRA CV 50 was presented, which will be on sale from the summer of 2024 and will be suitable for use especially in office spaces.

KIRA has already been tested several times by the OKIN Facility innovation team and we are waiting for suitable premises for permanent use.

i-team Global

is an international company specializing in the development, production and distribution of innovative cleaning and maintenance technologies. Their products are designed for a wide variety of environments, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, hotels and more.

These are mainly products under the i-mop brand, which combine the advantages of a classic mop with the performance and speed of a floor cleaning machine. Its compact size and maneuverability allow easy maneuvering in difficult spaces, such as narrow corridors or hard-to-reach places around furniture. Thanks to the battery drive and high performance, the i-mop manages fast and efficient cleaning of large areas.

The new i-mop XL PRO model was presented at the fair, which has a number of improvements, simplifications and extended battery life.

Lucart

is an Italian company that specializes in the production of ecological hygienic paper products. Their range includes toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, paper tablecloths, place mats and other hygiene and cleaning products.

Lucart ECONATURAL is a range of products that are part of Lucart 's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. ECONATURAL products are designed with minimal environmental impact in mind and use innovative materials and technologies that ensure complete carbon neutrality. The material is created by renovating cellulose fibers obtained from beverage cartons.

We also met with the distributor for the Czech Republic, the CASTIMO company, and the Slovak distributor DAMITO. We were shown a new range of dispensers for towels or toilet paper, which are also made from recycled tetrapak packaging.

Interclean 2024 gave us a platform to network, share knowledge and discover the latest trends and products in the field of cleaning and hygiene. Meeting old acquaintances was a great opportunity to reconnect, share industry news and experiences, and establish new business relationships.
